The Fund invested in 12Israeli companies, primarily in the medical device field. The scientific innovation for one of the companies, LapSpace, came from Johns Hopkins University of Baltimore. The MIDC introduced the company to healthcare professionals at several hospitals in Maryland. The company subsequently received orders from four hospitals, providing a crucial initial milestone for the company’s success in the US market.
- [Amerex Clinical Research of Maryland - Meet Potential Customers](https://marylandisrael.org/portfolio/vivamus-sagittis-lacus-2/) - Amerex participated in an MIDC trade mission to the Israel Biomed Conference. The MIDC organized meetings for Amerex with Israeli life science companies as well as seminars for him to speak about U.S. FDA regulatory issues. Two companies became customers of Amerex as a result of the trip.
