United Airlines launched the first nonstop air service between the Washington, DC region and Israel in May of this year. The service will operate three times a week from Dulles Airport.
The MIDC participated in a regional consortium of like-minded organizations including the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington (JCRC), the Baltimore Jewish Council (BJC) and the Israel American Council, to advocate for the nonstop flight.
The MIDC, United Airlines and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority collaborated with the JCRC and BJC to announce the new flight to the Washington and Baltimore Jewish Communities. Over 700 people attended the events.
